Preliminary |
|
In
pursuance of Rules 12 (xvii & xviii) of the Beant College
of Engineering and Technology, GurdaspurSociety, Rules and others powers enabling it in that behalf, the
Board of Governors of the Beant College of
Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur Society in the regulation of and forany purpose connected with the management and
administration of the affairs of the College
and for furtherance of its objects,
hereby approves these Bye-laws. |

In
these Bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires:-
- “College” means the Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur.
- “Society” means the Society known as the Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Society, Gurdaspur Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and as amended by Punjab Amendment act 1957.
- “Board” means Board of Governors of the College.
- “Chairman” means the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the College.
- “Principal” means the Principal of the College.
- “Registrar” means the Registrar of the College.
- “Chief Warden” means the Chief Warden of the Hostels of the College.
- “Warden” means the Warden of the Hostels of the College.
- “Authorities”, “Officers” and “Professors” mean the Authorities, Officers and Professors respectively of the College.
- “Discipline Committee” means the Discipline Committee of the College.
- “Secretary” means the Secretary of the Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur (Regd.).
- “Competent Authority” means the Boards of Governors of the Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Society, Gurdaspur and includes such officers and authorities to whom the Board may authorize for all and any of the purposes of these Bye-laws.
- “Employee” means any person employed or appointed to any service, office or post in connection with the affairs of the Society but excluding any work charged person working on part time and work-charged basis.
- “Service ” means the Service in the Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur.

1.2. Date of Commencement |
|
These
Bye-laws shall be deemed to have come into force from the date these are
approved by the Board of Governors provided that any condition laid down in the
appointment letter of any employee prior to the date of making of these bye -laws
by the Board of Governors and where
approval by the State Govt. and Central Govt. shall not be changed by the
provision of these bye-laws to the disadvantage
of the employees of the Society.
Provided
further that not with standing anything to the contrary in these bye-laws, or
previous actions taken by the competent
authorities of the College and the Board of Governors from time to time shall
be deemed to have been taken under these
bye-laws. |

1.3. Application |
|
Except as otherwise expressly provided for , these bye-laws shall apply to every person in the whole time employment of the Beant College of Engineering and Technology, (Gurdaspur) Society (REGD.) other than a person employed under the contingent establishment. |
|
1.4. Validity and Authentication of Orders and Decisions of the Board. |
|
All decisions taken at the meetings of the Board shall be valid even if it is discovered afterwards that there is some disqualification or defect in any member of the Board of Governors. |
